I developed glaucoma over 20 years ago after having implants in both eyes for cataracts and have had difficulty in reducing the pressure in the eyes with medication and surgery ever since.
I had tried chelation for several years and this did improve my visual field significantly over a 2 year period. My vision was deteriorating, though, and taking vitamin E, Beta Carotene, lutein and bilberry did result in some improvement.
When I started VEMMA six months ago, I started noticing my vision improving even more, so I went to see a new eye doctor. I told him about the VEMMA, but he wasn't interested...Then he dilated my eyes.
He said the retina was very healthy, and the optic nerves looked good, and he was very surprised. As a matter of fact, he stated that I probably had been mis-diagnosed, and had inherited the tendency for high pressure. Of course, I didn't have my old records from the other ophthalmologist, or the retinal specialist or the glaucoma specialist, all of whom had concurred that I did have it.
The next week, he checked the visual field, and that was normal. He was a little less resistant this time about the possibility that my eyes were improving from the VEMMA. We'll see what happens next year when I see him. Oh, my pressure was down about 3 to 5 points, the first time in 15 years...Judy
